According to the latest media reports, the John and Arjun-led film Ek Villian Returns eared around 7-8 crore at the domestic box office. The film opened on predicted lines. Well, the number is expected to go higher if night shows perform well. As per the advance booking online, the night shows aren't looking solid to pick up day 1 drastically.
Compared to its 2014 release, Ek Villain Returns' opening issues are acceptable. Unlike the second installment, OG Ek Villain had a lot of things working in its favor. From perfect casting to scintillating chemistry between lead actors Shraddha Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra, Ek Villain crossed the 100 crore mark at the box office due to various reasons.

I want a week where every Hindi film I watch is at least substantial, and not just a project aimed at redistributing undisclosed wealth. Said to be a sequel to the 2014 release starring Sidharth Malhotra, Shraddha Kapoor, and Riteish Deshmukh, this new Circus Race 3 the film that brings together the four actors is no less than the spiritual brother of Rashtra Kavach Om or Heropanti 2.
“Screenplay written by Mohit Suri and Asim Arora, Ek Villain Returns is everything a suspense thriller should not. It seems Suri has completely forgotten what he is known for and is currently writing a script every day on the sets. Forget a structure, there is no story and I don't know how one can present this idea. I am all the more shocked that someone in this world not only flagged off the script, but the final cut as well,” read the review further.

Ek Villian Returns was as far as release size is concerned, the makers are going with a wide release on about 3000 screens, and with a runtime under check, it will be getting good showcasing the national chains.
Ek Villain Returns Box Office Collection
Ek Villain Return had collected Rs. 24 Crore in box office collections in its opening weekend, according to a PTI report. The movie raised Rs. 7.05 crore at the ticket window on the day of its release, followed by Rs. 7.47 crore on day two and Rs. 9.02 crore on day three, taking the box office total to Rs. 23.54 crore.
